2022 Wedding Stationery Checklist

The use of stationery throughout a wedding has grown greatly over the past 8-10 years. Stationery used to only resemble a wedding invite with an RSVP included, this is far from the case now.

Wedding stationery builds the fairy-tale magic which leads up to the big day, it helps to paint a beautiful picture of how each wedding will look in the eyes of guests and family members.

Our advice to every bride is to spend time to research key trends and styles which suit the time of year and also the theme chosen for your wedding. Once an idea is chosen play with different samples of materials, embellishments and colour tones as they all may appear or feel different once placed together for the final product.

When planning considers the following three stationery categories-

Pre Wedding Stationary-

Save the Dates– A small form of pre invite, they help to set the tone of wedding while informing guest of the basic information.  This will be the first glimpse of the colour scheme or indication of the theme the wedding is planned around.

Wedding Invitations-Invites will follow the save the dates at a later stage.  They should continue the theme of the save the dates to ensure the stationery theme links beautifully together through the wedding.  Invitations tend to be slightly bigger as all information must be supplied to the guests for example, time, venue and gift lists.

RSVPs–   Usually these will be included with the wedding invitation, they should tie into the design of the wedding invitation.

Wedding Day Stationery

Table Plans- These are a very important part of the wedding; they help insure everyone has a place for dinner and that both families can be joined together for the celebrations.  Table plans are a great way to present your individuality as they are displayed for everyone at the wedding to see.

Place Cards– Small unique cards to add to your place settings can really make the different to your table layout and an easy way to add a bit of fun to each table.  By choosing the same material or colour tone to compliment the wedding invites will insure the stationery theme throughout the day.

Menus– By providing a detailed menu of the delightful dinner ahead can add extra bit of glamour to each table setting or for the centre of each table.

Order of Service – Guide guests through your ceremony and special day with an order of service and an order of the day. These should contain all the details on your day and tie in with your overall theme and colour scheme.

Get Social – 2022 is set to be an even bigger year for social media! Signs for hashtags, Instagram photo frames and custom hashtag signs are all a big trend for 2022.

After Wedding Stationary

Thank You Cards– A small happy card which completes the full journey of each wedding.  This is the final piece in the stationery puzzle. A simple but well-presented card in a matching or similar colour tone can look effortlessly fabulous.
